Senior Analyst, Strategic Finance

About the role

Cogent is an Applied AI Lab focused on cybersecurity, partnering with Fortune 500 companies. The Senior Analyst, Strategic Finance will own the financial model and drive analysis for planning, forecasting, and investment decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Own the five‑year operating model and lead the annual and quarterly planning cycles.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design hiring plans and build three‑statement forecasts supporting lender and covenant reporting.
• Develop and maintain the sales capacity model, partnering with GTM leadership on quota, territory, and pipeline analytics.
• Design commission plans and provide pricing and packaging analysis.
• Track core SaaS metrics such as ARR, net revenue retention, CAC payback, and gross margin.
• Build dashboards and self‑serve reporting tools for leadership and prepare board materials.
• Leverage AI tooling to accelerate forecasting, variance analysis, and ad‑hoc requests.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, or a comparable analytical finance role.
• Proven ability to build and maintain P&L, balance sheet, and cash‑flow forecasts from scratch.
• Strong quantitative judgment and the capacity to explain complex analysis concisely to executives.
• Excellent financial modeling skills and comfort working in a fast‑moving early‑stage environment.
• Bonus: experience in cybersecurity, SaaS, or early‑stage operating companies; experience partnering with GTM teams on capacity planning or pipeline analytics; hands‑on with AI tools for modeling or reporting.
