Senior Accountant

About the role

The Greystar accounting function supports parent‑company partnership accounting, including C‑Suite income statement and balance sheet reporting. This senior accountant executes legal entity accounting, financial reporting, balance‑sheet governance, cash management, audit coordination and other controls while applying GAAP principles.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and analyze financial information, prepare journal entries, and reconcile figures in the general ledger.
• Oversee income‑statement variance analysis for multiple legal entities and provide commentary on fluctuations.
• Review revenue, expense, and invoice documentation, resolve discrepancies, and authorize bank reconciliations and wire transfers.
• Perform balance‑sheet account reconciliations, ensure supporting documentation complies with corporate policy.
• Act as liaison to internal and external auditors, supplying explanations, research data and timely responses.

Required profile

• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards and internal policies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement procedural enhancements to increase efficiency.
• Stay current on technology, industry standards and best practices through training and research.

Required skills

• Oracle accounting system (preferred).
• Advanced Excel and spreadsheet modeling.
• Proficiency with corporate accounting and job‑cost accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP; CPA designation preferred.
