Senior Accountant, General Ledger

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team in San Francisco. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will own key components of the month‑end close, equity accounting, financial reporting, and audit processes while driving automation and process improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, accruals, reclassifications and manage balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Own fixed assets, prepaid, lease, intercompany, and other complex GL accounts, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Maintain equity roll‑forward schedules, stock‑based compensation accounting (ASC 718) and coordinate with Legal, HR and Carta.
• Draft annual audited financial statements, footnotes and supporting schedules for management review.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors, prepare audit schedules and support internal control documentation.
• Identify automation opportunities, improve close efficiency, and assist with ERP implementations and system optimizations.
• Partner with Revenue Accounting, Payroll, AP, AR and other finance functions on cross‑functional initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong technical accounting foundation with experience in U.S. GAAP.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month‑end close and balance‑sheet analysis.
• Experience with equity accounting and stock‑based compensation.
• Proven track record of supporting audits and internal controls.
• Passion for process automation and scalable finance operations.
• Ready to develop into an Accounting Manager role in the next few years.
