Security Specialist – Temporary/Part‑time (Northern VA)

About the role

Join a focused team that protects classified facilities, personnel, and equipment for a short‑term, high‑impact project supporting the Intelligence Community. The position requires flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and within a larger team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide physical and technical security oversight and guidance to cleared and uncleared personnel across multiple classified sites.
• Coordinate the secure movement of equipment and materials using knowledge of IC security regulations, policies, and SOPs.
• Offer analytical input to senior facility leadership on best practices in a changing environment.
• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders regarding personnel and equipment movement plans.
• Adapt quickly to a rapidly changing environment, demonstrating maximum flexibility and collaboration.
• Operate both independently and as part of a larger team to achieve mission success.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a physical security officer or in a comparable role within the IC.
• Experience working in a classified environment, preferably for an IC agency.
• Basic understanding and application of security practices, concepts, and procedures.
• Maximum schedule flexibility, including the ability to work all days of the week and extended hours as needed.
• Own transportation and a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and effective communication with both cleared and uncleared stakeholders.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and maintain a collaborative approach.
