Security Specialist – Site Security Representative

About the role
We are looking for a Security Specialist to join our Performance Materials team in Wyandotte. The role serves as the Site Security Representative and Information Protection Officer, leading the development, implementation, and oversight of site security programs while providing expert guidance on investigations, crisis management, and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee security incident reporting, conduct follow‑up activities, and generate analytical security reports.
- Coordinate training programs for proprietary and contracted security personnel, including new‑hire orientation and ongoing security officer training.
- Review and approve site security‑related projects independently, applying strong organizational and project‑management skills.
- Manage site access control, camera, and guard‑force operations, as well as receptionist personnel.
- Maintain compliance with the Site Security Plan, corporate background‑check policies, and support audits and assessments.
- Implement the site’s Information Protection awareness program to mitigate intellectual‑property loss risks.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree, or equivalent military/law‑enforcement training, with at least 5 years of security, EHS, law‑enforcement or related experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with senior leaders, security vendors, law‑enforcement agencies and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Electronic Security Systems, including access control, alarm systems, video surveillance and security hardware.
- Experience conducting investigations and handling sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to translate strategic direction into actionable plans and deliver results independently.
