Security Manager – UHealth Tower

About the role

The Manager of Public Safety for UHealth Tower oversees daily security operations and supports the Director of Public Safety in achieving strategic goals. This position ensures a safe environment for patients, staff, visitors, and the broader hospital community.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise staffing, deployment, scheduling, and patrol coverage to maintain consistent security presence.
• Coordinate response to security incidents, workplace violence, emergencies, and other threats.
• Lead investigations of theft, vandalism, threats, and other criminal or safety‑related events.
• Ensure compliance with University policies, Joint Commission, CMS, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards.
• Oversee security technologies such as video surveillance, access control, visitor management, and panic/duress alarms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5–7 years of public safety or healthcare security experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of hospital safety operations, security protocols, and compliance standards.
• Ability to lead shift‑based teams and make decisive decisions under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with video management systems (VMS).
• Experience with access‑control systems.
• Familiarity with panic/duress alarm systems.
