Security Guard - Overnight Fri/Sat

About the role

The Experience Senior Living Team is looking for a Security Guard to protect the safety and security of residents, staff and visitors at its senior living community during overnight hours (Friday and Saturday, 11pm-7am). The role also offers concierge-style support, such as monitoring guest access, handling deliveries and helping residents and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol interior and exterior areas and greet and screen visitors after hours
• Receive, log and store overnight deliveries, and notify staff or residents as needed
• Respond promptly to emergencies such as medical, fire or security incidents
• Inspect doors, locks, windows and alarm systems and report concerns
• Stay at the reception desk and assist residents, family members and overnight staff
• Document incidents and daily activities in written reports
• Operate access control, video surveillance and fire alarm systems
• Help with minor facility issues and support emergency evacuations
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized reception, lobby and welcome area

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR, First Aid and AED certification required or obtainable on hire
• Previous security, concierge or customer service experience preferred; senior living, healthcare or hospitality experience highly desirable
• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends and holidays as needed
• Physical ability to walk, stand and patrol for long periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

Required skills

• Strong observation, problem-solving and communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency for security systems and electronic reporting
• Professional, calm demeanor in stressful or emergency situations
