Section Head, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner Children’s Hospital seeks an experienced physician leader to serve as Section Head of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. The role will guide a growing team of faculty, advanced practice providers, psychologists, and social workers to expand care for children across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology program, increasing patient volume.
• Oversee physician recruiting, onboarding, and medical staff management.
• Ensure high quality of care and meet patient experience goals.
• Manage financial performance and resource allocation for the section.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including transplant services.
• Drive program development and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven leadership, team‑building, and managerial experience in a clinical setting.
• Track record of successful program growth and development.
• Additional training or experience in bone marrow transplant and/or stem cell transplant is desirable.
• Vision and passion for advancing pediatric hematology/oncology care.
