School Resource Officer Supervisor – Chatham ETC – Savannah GA

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice is seeking a School Resource Officer (SRO) Supervisor to lead SROs assigned to educational facilities in the Chatham ETC region. This position ensures a safe learning environment while supporting the agency’s mission of public safety and youth rehabilitation.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, direct, and evaluate the performance of assigned School Resource Officers.
• Conduct daily briefings, assign work priorities, and ensure professional appearance, uniform compliance, and operational body‑worn cameras and firearms.
• Develop and deliver educational programs on law respect, responsible citizenship, and violence prevention.
• Assist school administrators with comprehensive safety and emergency response plans.
• Coordinate student transportation, arrival/dismissal, and meal operations with the Operations Support Manager.
• Monitor campuses for criminal activity, safety hazards, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents requiring law‑enforcement intervention and liaise with local agencies.
• Prepare, review, and submit incident reports, including Student Incident Reports and investigative documentation.
• Conduct preliminary investigations and participate in student review, parent, IEP, and staff meetings.

Required profile

• Experience supervising law‑enforcement personnel, preferably School Resource Officers.
• Ability to develop and present educational safety programs.
• Strong communication skills for liaison with students, parents, school staff, and external agencies.
