SAP HANA & DB2 Administrator (Onsite)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced SAP HANA Administrator with strong DB2, MAXDB and QLIK expertise to join its Austin team. The role focuses on installing, configuring, and optimizing SAP HANA and related database platforms to ensure high availability and performance for critical semiconductor and display manufacturing applications.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure SAP HANA (including multi‑tenant and scale‑out), DB2, MAXDB and QLIK environments.
• Perform system administration tasks such as start/stop, parameter tuning, health checks, and regular housekeeping.
• Design and execute backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies, including HANA system replication (HSR) and failover.
• Manage security, roles, privileges, and compliance with encryption and auditing policies.
• Monitor performance, resolve bottlenecks, and optimize SQL queries and data models.
• Plan and apply version upgrades, patches, and SAP Notes across all supported platforms.
• Support multi‑environment landscapes (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD) and collaborate with BASIS, infrastructure, networking and storage teams.
• Provide on‑call support, troubleshoot incidents, and interface with SAP OSS when needed.
• Configure QLIK endpoints, resolve interface issues, and coordinate with Databricks teams.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in SAP HANA and database administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 support environment handling production‑critical issues.
