SAP Basis Lead – Hybrid (Remote/Onsite)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Lead to own the administration, performance tuning, and maintenance of our SAP landscape. The role combines technical expertise with leadership, guiding a team of Basis administrators while collaborating with infrastructure, security, and functional groups.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the SAP Basis team and act as the primary technical authority on all SAP technology matters.
• Manage installations, upgrades, support packages, and system refreshes across ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, PO, Fiori and related components.
• Monitor system performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Partner with project teams on SAP implementations, migrations (e.g., to S/4HANA) and cloud initiatives.
• Define and enforce SAP technical standards, governance and best‑practice documentation.
• Oversee backups, disaster‑recovery planning and high‑availability configurations.
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies, managing users, roles and authorisations together with the security team.
• Coordinate with vendors and support partners for complex issue resolution and contract management.
• Participate in audits and maintain SOX and other regulatory compliance.
• Plan and execute technical cut‑overs for go‑live events and provide 24x7 on‑call support for critical incidents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• 15+ years of hands‑on experience with SAP Basis, including ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, Solution Manager, Fiori and PI/PO.
• Proven track record of leading SAP system upgrades, migrations and large‑scale implementations.
• Strong background in HANA database administration and performance tuning.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP hosting SAP workloads.
• Familiarity with SAP security concepts, GRC integration and ITIL service‑delivery processes.
