Salesforce Developer – VPUR

About the role

The University Relations office at the University of Maryland is expanding its Salesforce CRM platform. The Salesforce Developer will design, build, test, and maintain custom solutions that extend the platform beyond declarative configuration, ensuring long‑term stability and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Apex code, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and integration components to meet business needs.
• Support and stabilize custom logic delivered by implementation partners.
• Provide technical leadership and supervise the Salesforce Administrator, coordinating declarative and custom development work.
• Assume Administrator duties during absences to keep platform operations and user support uninterrupted.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and business stakeholders to align solutions with architecture standards.

Required profile

• Proficiency with LWC and Salesforce UI extension patterns.
• Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, and authentication methods (OAuth, Named Credentials, JWT).
• Experience with Salesforce data modeling, security model, and mass data operations.
• Hands‑on experience with Salesforce DX and CI/CD pipelines (Copado, Gearset, or native tools).
• Ability to provide technical guidance and supervise junior staff.
