Safety, Health & Environment Manager

About the role

As a senior member of the site leadership team at Greencore's Boston facility, you will provide strategic direction for Health, Safety and Environment (HSE). You will shape and embed HSE systems, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with legislation across all site activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain site HSE management systems, governance structures and performance metrics.
• Interpret and apply HSE legislation, delivering risk‑based action plans integrated into daily operations.
• Coach and support leaders and teams to embed HSE processes and ownership at every level.
• Lead the creation and delivery of the site HSE strategy, roadmap, reporting, data collection and KPI monitoring.
• Design initiatives to strengthen HSE culture, stakeholder engagement and brand reputation.
• Implement controls for new and changing legislation across health, safety, environmental, occupational health and security domains.
• Establish robust incident reporting, investigation and failure‑analysis procedures, managing incident recording systems.
• Develop HSE capability through training, coaching and cross‑functional committee leadership.
• Manage relationships with regulators, customers and auditors.

Required profile

• Proven senior HSE leadership experience in a manufacturing or food‑production environment.
• Deep knowledge of UK HSE legislation and best practice.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and influencing abilities across all organisational levels.
• Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change and embed safety behaviours.
