About the role

Infosys is seeking a Safety Engineer to join its Manufacturing unit in Lafayette, Indiana. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining safety programs within a heavy‑machine shop that serves automotive, aerospace, defense, and industrial manufacturing customers.

Key responsibilities

• Elicit and document business and technical safety requirements, translating them into actionable specifications.
• Participate in design meetings, create initial safety concepts, and support the development of sketches and models using established engineering tools.
• Iterate engineering design cycles, refine prototypes, and coordinate feedback from cross‑functional teams.
• Develop and validate solution specifications through simulations and testing to ensure compliance with design criteria.
• Build and refine safety prototypes, incorporating test results and feedback.
• Lead technical integration efforts, resolve interoperability issues, and ensure overall system functionality.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and facilitate knowledge‑sharing sessions.
