Safety Coordinator

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join the SR400 Constructors team in Georgia. The role is essential for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace on a large‑scale, $4.6 billion infrastructure project, providing inspections, training, and technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with OSHA, GDOT, and project‑specific safety plans.
• Support daily risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety meetings across all project segments.
• Assist in safety orientations and refresher training for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Perform incident and near‑miss reporting, investigations, and track corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports using the company’s safety management software.
• Provide technical guidance on hazard recognition, safe work practices, PPE usage, and emergency preparedness.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; OSHA 30‑Hour Construction certification (or obtain within 6 months).
• Minimum 3 years of safety or construction experience (Specialist II) or 7 + years (Specialist III).
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety principles, hazards, and regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence teams.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and comfort with digital safety reporting systems.

Required skills

• OSHA 30‑Hour Construction Certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
