Safeguards Enforcement Lead, User Well-Being

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Safeguards Enforcement Lead for its User Well-Being team. In this senior management position you will oversee enforcement workflows that protect children, support mental health, prevent abuse and exploitation, and verify user age across AI‑driven products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of individual contributors across multiple policy areas under the User Well-Being banner.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for review partners, handling onboarding, training, quality assurance, and ongoing relationship management.
• Design and continuously improve enforcement workflows to scale with volume while maintaining high accuracy and consistency.
• Partner with Engineering and Data Science to optimize detection models and automated enforcement systems for User Well-Being policies.
• Develop and maintain internal documentation, decision trees, and review guidelines for consistent enforcement at scale.
• Monitor emerging AI policy enforcement best practices, legal frameworks, and technology trends to inform workflow updates.
• Identify misuse patterns, report trends to internal stakeholders, and coordinate external reporting obligations (e.g., NCMEC) as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing teams in the User Well-Being space.
• Background in trust & safety, content moderation operations, or policy enforcement with direct exposure to child safety, mental health, abuse, exploitation, and age assurance issues.
