Run Test Technician

About the role

The Run Test Technician performs final functional testing, verification, and troubleshooting of industrial gas compressors, processing skids, and PLC control panels before shipment. Working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams, the technician ensures equipment meets safety, performance, and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct functional run tests on natural‑gas compressor packages and PLC‑based control panels according to company procedures and customer specifications.
• Set up test environments, operate compressors through start‑up, load, and shutdown cycles, and validate PLC logic, safety interlocks, alarms, and shutdown sequences.
• Record, analyze, and report test data to confirm compliance with performance and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control‑system issues, and provide feedback for design improvements.
• Maintain calibration, cleanliness, and readiness of test equipment and enforce all safety and quality policies.

Required profile

• 1–7 years of experience troubleshooting PLC control panels and operating Caterpillar or Waukesha engines.
• Proficiency reading P&IDs, General Arrangement drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Hands‑on experience with Ariel and Dresser‑Rand compressors.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication abilities.
