Room Service Supervisor

About the role

The Room Service Supervisor leads a team that provides patient‑focused food service within the hospital. This position combines direct customer interaction with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring meals meet physician‑prescribed diets, allergies and patient preferences.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise 5 full‑time and 2 PRN Room Service Ambassadors, acting as the primary point of contact for the patient food service model.
• Assist callers, monitor the call queue, and handle a high daily call volume while supporting dietitians and clinical staff.
• Coordinate daily lunch and break assignments for operators and maintain time‑and‑attendance records.
• Provide training for new call‑center operators and deliver updates on procedural changes.
• Conduct 90‑day evaluations for new hires and assist the Assistant Director with annual performance reviews.
• Perform operator duties as needed, including handling patient menu selections and ensuring compliance with dietary orders.

Required profile

• High School Diploma plus at least two years of relevant experience.
• Strong verbal communication and customer‑focused attitude.
• Experience or coursework in clinical nutrition, nutrition therapy, food service, or healthcare customer service.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment and work collaboratively across campus departments.

Required skills

• Computer and basic keyboard proficiency.
• Telephone etiquette and call‑handling skills.
• Familiarity with office equipment such as printers and copiers.
