Room Attendant – Housekeeping

About the role

The Room Attendant joins Sonesta International Hotels' Housekeeping team to ensure guest rooms and public areas are clean, well‑maintained, and ready for occupancy. Working on‑site, you will follow brand standards to deliver the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. experience.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and service assigned rooms, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitising bathrooms, and handling kitchenettes.
• Report completed rooms to supervisors for sale and flag any rooms that cannot be serviced.
• Respond to guest requests and complaints, taking corrective action to achieve full satisfaction.
• When assigned to laundry, operate industrial washers and dryers, monitor supplies, inspect linens, and report damages.
• Minimise waste of supplies, assist with deep‑cleaning projects, and handle lost‑and‑found items per procedure.
• Communicate with other shifts and departments to promote teamwork and quality service.
• Observe health, safety, and legal compliance in all housekeeping activities.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred, especially in extended‑stay hotels.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; additional languages are a plus.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel and lift items up to 75 lb.
• Comfort with regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals.
