Robotics Engineer

About the role

Sabanto is a venture‑backed technology company based in Illinois that is building autonomous robotic platforms for agriculture. As a Robotics Engineer you will develop the vehicle platform that powers autonomous tractors and other farm equipment, creating highly configurable robots that operate in real field environments.

Key responsibilities

• Build and test robotics navigation, safety, control and sequencing systems.
• Triage, reproduce and resolve issues with robotics systems seen in the field.
• Occasional travel to observe and refine robotics systems at customer sites.
• Write tested, hardened and safe code.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, robotics, or a related field.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial attitude with a keen eye for detail.
• Organized, disciplined, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Willingness to learn to drive tractors or other four‑wheel equipment.
• Interest in learning the agriculture industry and helping farmers succeed.

Required skills

• Mastery of Python or C++.
• Mastery of ROS/ROS2.
• Experience working with geospatial data.
• Experience integrating perception or vision systems.
• 5+ years building robotics or other real‑time computer applications.
