RN Part-Time – One Day Surgery

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a part‑time Registered Nurse to support its One Day Surgery unit. This position provides direct patient care in a fast‑paced surgical environment, ensuring safe and efficient procedures for same‑day patients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver peri‑operative nursing care to patients undergoing one‑day surgical procedures.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and assist with postoperative recovery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff to maintain a sterile and organized operating suite.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in the electronic health record.
• Educate patients and families on postoperative instructions and follow‑up care.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure in Arkansas.
• Experience in peri‑operative or surgical nursing preferred.
• Ability to work flexible shift patterns in a hospital setting.
• Commitment to providing high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Required skills

• Proficiency in standard nursing procedures and patient monitoring.
• Knowledge of infection control and surgical asepsis.
