Retrofit Solutions Engineer I

About the role

As a member of the Airbus Cabin Upgrade Engineering team, you will apply advanced aerospace engineering principles to deliver high‑quality cabin retrofit solutions. You will manage all technical and project aspects of assigned aircraft modifications, from global architecture definition to detailed engineering drawings, and provide on‑site liaison support to customers and MRO facilities during modification embodiment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive cabin retrofit architectures and detailed technical designs.
• Create robust engineering drawings while optimizing lead‑time, quality and cost.
• Define complete kit requirements to support physical retrofit designs.
• Coordinate project stakeholders, subcontractors and international Airbus departments to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Develop and manage aircraft certification plans and support regulatory compliance.
• Provide on‑site technical assistance to modification teams and resolve post‑delivery queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related field (0‑3 years experience) or Master’s degree (0‑1 year experience).
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Proven ability to build and maintain a global internal network with engineering and program colleagues.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industry‑standard CAD tools (e.g., CATIA V5 or similar).
• Experience using Google Workspace/Google Suite for project collaboration and documentation.
• Knowledge of Service Bulletin production and lifecycle.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and certification processes.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation such as Bills of Materials and modification requirements.
