About the role
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist to join its clinical team on a temporary, fixed‑term basis. This on‑site position supports patient care across a range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Provide direct respiratory therapy services to in‑patients, including assessment, treatment, and monitoring.
- Operate and maintain ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and other respiratory equipment.
- Develop and adjust individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff.
- Document patient responses and therapy outcomes accurately in the medical record.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and equipment use.
Required profile
- Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Arkansas.
- Eligibility to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in respiratory therapy procedures and equipment.
- Knowledge of ventilator management and airway support.
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and other respiratory diagnostics.
