Resource Mapping Intern – Winter 2026 (Hybrid)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Resource Mapping Intern for the winter 2026 term. This hybrid position will support IRC‑LA by creating a comprehensive community resource map of services available to clients in the greater Los Angeles area. The internship offers hands‑on experience in nonprofit research, partnership building, and digital mapping tools.

Key responsibilities

• Research and outreach to community‑based organizations offering services to IRC‑LA client populations.
• Develop an online community resource map that can be accessed by IRC staff and clients.
• Coordinate with IRC‑LA program teams to understand client needs and ensure the map aligns with program goals.
• Document findings and maintain up‑to‑date information on available services.

Required profile

• Proficiency in written and oral English.
• Strong research and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate with a culturally diverse team.
• Familiarity with IRC’s mission and a willingness to represent the organization appropriately.

Required skills

• Virtual mapping tools (experience preferred).
• Computer skills for data collection and online map creation.
