Resident Engineer - Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Resident Engineer – Heavy Civil to join the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project, one of the nation’s most ambitious infrastructure initiatives. The role will focus on overseeing tunnel construction, ventilation shafts, and related works, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in development, execution, supervision and coordination of technical aspects, including review of plans, schedules, contracts and construction methods.
• Represent the Construction Management team at daily construction meetings with the contractor and support senior CM staff with technical input.
• Oversee Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) design, fabrication, operation and monitor tunneling progress, ground conditions and excavation parameters.
• Manage review and installation of precast concrete tunnel lining segments and coordinate timely completion of tunneling works.
• Implement safety protocols, quality control measures and prepare progress reports on TBM operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including extensive work with Tunnel Boring Machines.
• Proven experience in pressurized‑face TBM mining, precast concrete segmental lining and cross‑passage construction.
