Resident Engineer – Aviation Construction (MEP Focus)

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead construction management on the Atlanta International Airport (ATL) aviation program. The role combines oversight of multi‑disciplinary teams with deep mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) expertise to ensure successful delivery of complex airport projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site oversight of contractors, ensuring compliance with contracts, schedules, budgets and quality standards.
• Review and approve progress payments, bid packages, and construction documents for constructability and coordination.
• Coordinate field directives, daily reports, and weekly Resident Engineer reports, and lead weekly construction meetings.
• Supervise Assistant Resident Engineers, Project/Office Engineers, Document Control Clerks and Field Inspectors.
• Manage safety, quality assurance, material procurement and schedule updates throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or construction‑related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of construction engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a field leadership role.
• Extensive experience on airport or aviation construction projects and significant MEP background.
• Proven ability to communicate across multi‑disciplinary groups and build consensus with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering expertise.
• Construction management and field engineering.
• Project scheduling software (PMWeb, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office suite.
• Review of contractor Safety Plans, Quality Control Plans and Document Control Plans.
• Knowledge of design‑bid‑build, design‑build and CMR contract delivery methods.
