Research Specialist I – Healthy Living Program

About the role

The Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture (IHA) at Texas A&M AgriLife is seeking a Research Specialist I to join the Healthy Living program in Dallas. Working under the direction of the IHA Associate Director, the specialist will support community‑engaged research aimed at reducing health disparities through nutrition‑focused agricultural practices.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Healthy Living team to plan, develop, and implement research projects.
• Provide technical and operational support for program activities and data collection.
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and scientific manuscripts.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners, including community organizations and university units.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with research protocols.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in agriculture, nutrition, public health, or a related field.
• Experience or interest in community‑engaged research and health disparity initiatives.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently under general supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Data management and basic statistical analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
