Research Pilot Brewery Co‑Op

About the role

Join the Innovations group at Anheuser‑Busch’s Research Pilot Brewery in St. Louis for a 6‑month co‑op. You will work hands‑on in a micro‑brewery environment, moving beer, grinding malt, testing new flavors and supporting the development of high‑quality beers and flavored malt beverages.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Innovations team with new process techniques, recipe development and data collection.
• Operate and calibrate equipment such as flow meters, plate‑and‑frame coolers, glycol‑jacketed tanks, yeast separators, steam heaters and laboratory instruments.
• Perform manual tasks including moving hoses, opening valves, cleaning tanks, transferring products and centrifuging beer.
• Document observations, enter data and present project results to zone senior leadership.

Required profile

• Current university student or recent graduate (GPA ≥ 2.8) in any major; engineering, science or environmental/safety background a plus.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and overtime in a 24/7 brewery.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lb, walk elevated catwalks and stand for long periods in varying temperatures.
• Demonstrated leadership, self‑motivation and collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with SAP or advanced Excel features (macros, VBA).
• Calibration and operation of flow meters, plate‑and‑frame coolers, glycol‑jacketed tanks, yeast separators, steam heaters and lab instruments.
