Research & Instruction Librarian

About the role

The Research & Instruction Librarian supports undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff within a designated college by delivering research assistance, instruction, and collection development. The role emphasizes coordinating a multi‑literacy program and integrating information literacy across curricula.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and assess an engaging information literacy program, establishing student learning outcomes.
• Develop policies, procedures, and partnerships to enhance research skills and embed literacy components in courses, curriculum, and the LMS.
• Create and maintain digital learning objects and standards for teaching materials.
• Provide library instruction, develop print and online instructional resources, and conduct classes and workshops.
• Offer research assistance through multiple channels and serve as subject librarian for the assigned college.
• Collaborate on collection development aligned with teaching and research needs.
• Engage in outreach activities, events, and committees to support student success and retention.
• Participate in professional development and other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA‑accredited program.
• Experience delivering research assistance and instructional services in an academic setting.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and assess information literacy programs.
