Research Associate – Education Impact Lab

About the role

The International Rescue Committee’s Airbel Impact Lab is seeking a Junior Researcher to join its Education Unit. This position focuses on data management, analysis, and reporting for education‑focused humanitarian projects, offering an early‑career professional hands‑on experience in a fast‑moving, impact‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research across multiple education projects, including data cleaning, organization, and analysis.
• Ensure data quality and integrity while producing clear, accessible reports for diverse audiences.
• Support implementation research to assess delivery, quality, fidelity, and cost‑effectiveness of education interventions.
• Assist with randomized control trials to evaluate impacts on children’s foundational learning and wellbeing.
• Contribute to the development of research priorities under senior researcher supervision.
• Draft briefs, reports, and blog posts to disseminate findings to practitioners and policy makers.

Required profile

• Early‑career researcher with a strong interest in humanitarian education.
• Experience handling both quantitative and qualitative datasets.
• Ability to synthesize complex findings into accessible written products.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
