About the role
The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is seeking recent graduates to join its Research Associate program. As a Research Associate you will support economists in analyzing economic and financial data, contributing to monetary‑policy research and publications.
Key responsibilities
- Review, organize, and analyze economic and financial data.
- Write programs using statistical software such as Stata, MATLAB, R, SAS or Python.
- Conduct literature reviews, perform data analysis, and prepare written summaries for economists.
- Prepare charts and tables using spreadsheet and data‑visualization tools.
- Design programs to clean data, run statistical tests and regressions, and maintain data series.
- Proofread, edit, and fact‑check articles and research papers.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, international relations or a related field with an economics concentration.
- Strong analytical, communication and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with programming languages and statistical packages such as Stata, Python, MATLAB, R and knowledge of econometrics.
- Prior research or classroom experience analyzing data.
- U.S. citizenship.
