Job description

Join 3M’s innovative team as a Reliability Engineer, driving product reliability and quality for next‑generation electromechanical systems and energy solutions.

  • Lead reliability, verification, validation, and quality engineering activities for electromechanical systems and installation platforms.
  • Develop reliability strategies, test plans, accelerated life‑testing protocols, and environmental qualification methods.
  • Perform failure analysis, root‑cause investigations, and implement corrective actions using structured problem‑solving.
  • Drive Design for Reliability (DfR), Design for Quality (DfQ), risk assessments, and FMEA throughout product development.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, firmware, manufacturing, supplier quality, and regulatory teams to identify risks and ensure manufacturability.
  • Contribute to new product launches across all development phases and generate intellectual property such as inventions and patents.
  • Lead technical interactions with corporate labs to apply new technologies, processes, and materials for energy market products.
  • Support commercialization of reliable, sustainable energy delivery solutions worldwide.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Reliability, Quality Engineering or Science.
  • Minimum three years of experience in product development, reliability, quality, or systems engineering in private, public, government, or military environments.
  • Experience with reliability modeling, accelerated life testing, Weibull analysis, reliability growth and life‑data modeling.
  • Proficiency in leading FMEA, fault‑tree analysis, risk assessments, and Design for Reliability initiatives.
  • Knowledge of qualification programs for electromechanical, automation, robotics, industrial equipment, or power‑system products.
  • Hands‑on experience with statistical tools such as Minitab, JMP, DOE, SPC, and process capability analysis.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards (UL, CE, IEC) and supplier/manufacturing quality systems.
