Registered Nurse – Trauma Surgical CVICU (H4)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Trauma Surgical Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The H4 position provides direct care to critically ill patients recovering from trauma and cardiovascular surgery, working within a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the CVICU, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention.
• Administer medications, manage IV therapy, and operate ventilators and other life‑support equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and allied health professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, perform rapid assessments, and initiate appropriate life‑saving measures.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted RN license in the United States.
• BSN preferred; associate degree acceptable with relevant experience.
• Experience in intensive care, trauma, or cardiovascular surgery settings.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
