Registered Nurse – Transplant

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Transplant outpatient clinic. This full‑time position provides direct patient care, supports the transplant team, and contributes to high‑quality, compassionate services for patients undergoing organ transplantation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to transplant patients, including assessments, medication administration, and monitoring of vital signs.
• Coordinate patient flow within the outpatient clinic, ensuring timely appointments, labs, and follow‑up visits.
• Educate patients and families about transplant procedures, post‑operative care, and medication regimens.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, and ancillary staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and adhere to regulatory and safety standards.

Required profile

• Current Arkansas RN license and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
• Experience in acute care, surgical, or transplant nursing preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with multidisciplinary teams and patients.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to UAMS policies.
