Registered Nurse Supervisor / Charge Nurse – Columbus

About the role

The State of Georgia seeks a Registered Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse to lead nursing staff at the West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus. This position oversees patient care, guides the nursing team, and ensures high‑quality clinical services.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, guide, and evaluate nursing staff on the unit or shift.
• Plan, implement, and assess nursing care, developing individualized care plans and maintaining accurate medical records.
• Administer prescribed medications, initiate intravenous fluids, and document all administrations.
• Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and maintain inventory levels.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding health maintenance and disease prevention.
• Observe nurses, conduct bedside visits, and verify that proper nursing care is delivered.
• Monitor client conditions, record symptoms, and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Oversee client diet, physical activity, and overall wellness during hospitalization.
• Deliver first aid, immunizations, and support convalescence and rehabilitation efforts.

Required profile

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Current Georgia Registered Nurse license.
• Four years of professional nursing experience, including at least two years in a lead, team‑leader, or supervisory role.
