Registered Nurse – Short Stay/Transitional Care Units

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in its Short Stay/Transitional Care Units (A4/A7). The RN will provide acute nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care to home or long‑term care, ensuring safe and efficient discharge.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in short‑stay and transitional care settings.
• Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and monitor clinical progress.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary discharge planning and patient education.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure continuity of care.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Arkansas.
• Experience in acute or transitional care nursing.
• Ability to work varied shifts in a fast‑paced hospital environment.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
