Registered Nurse – Perinatal Unit (Weekend Shifts)

About the role

The Perinatal Unit in Monroe is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality patient care during weekend shifts. The RN will lead the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure culturally sensitive care.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, evidence‑based patient care.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families and implement appropriate teaching strategies.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, acting as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Analyze data and promote changes to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Adapt communication and care approaches to respect patient privacy, cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Ochsner’s privacy and conduct standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior work experience required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computers, software applications, and web‑based systems.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) clinical skill.
