Registered Nurse – Pediatrics (St. Mary)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide pediatric patient care at St. Mary within Ochsner’s North Louisiana region. The role follows the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code, and unit strategic goals, emphasizing quality outcomes and cultural sensitivity.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
• Utilize data and evidence to drive improvements and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Promote patient satisfaction and staff morale through professional nursing behaviors.
• Adapt interactions to respect patient privacy, cultural, and religious diversity.
• Perform additional duties as required, including compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No prior work experience required.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Effective organizational, time‑management, and judgment skills.
