Registered Nurse – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (F5/H5)

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This full‑time position provides direct care to critically ill newborns and supports families in a high‑acuity hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neonates in the NICU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing life‑support equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
• Educate and support families regarding newborn care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Current Arkansas RN license in good standing.
• Experience in neonatal or intensive care nursing preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient‑centered care.
