Registered Nurse – Med/Tele Stepdown (Full-time Nights)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its Med/Tele Stepdown unit on the night shift. This position serves as a leader in patient care, applying the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards while fostering a culturally sensitive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver high‑quality patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
• Use data and evidence‑based knowledge to drive improvements and achieve optimal outcomes.
• Adapt interactions to respect patient privacy, cultural diversity, and individual preferences.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred).
• No prior work experience required (required).
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (required).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required).
• Certification in a clinical specialty area (preferred).
