About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Admissions Unit at Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA. This full‑time position offers flexible shift options and a competitive salary range.

Key responsibilities

• Assess client health problems, record vital signs, and document findings.
• Review medication orders, administer oral, sublingual, and IM medications, and monitor patient response.
• Notify physicians/psychiatrists of urgent needs and assist with treatment plans.
• Provide nursing care, education, and disease‑prevention counseling.
• Prepare examination rooms, maintain sterile instruments, and ensure supply inventory.
• Monitor diet, symptoms, and changes in client conditions; maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Current RN license (state and national) with experience in acute or behavioral health settings.
• Ability to assess, plan, and deliver basic nursing care and develop care plans.
• Knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, pharmacology, and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Capability to perform CPR and, where required, operate an AED.
• Willingness to undergo state‑required background checks.
