Regional Project Manager – Economic Development

About the role

The Georgia Department of Economic Development seeks a Regional Project Manager to drive business development and investment in Region 4. You will act as the primary point of contact for existing and prospective companies, helping them expand or locate in the area while collaborating with local officials and community leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Georgia as the lead contact for companies considering expansion or new locations in the region.
• Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, executive decision‑makers, and state partners.
• Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to generate leads and promote the state’s incentives.
• Provide expertise on the state’s incentive programs, pro‑business climate, and workforce resources.
• Serve as the first point of contact for communities regarding economic development initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Marketing, International Affairs, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field.
• At least three years of professional experience in a closely related field.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑stakeholder projects and manage complex tasks.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong ethical standards.
• Valid driver’s license, willingness to travel extensively (average three days per week), and residence within or willingness to relocate to the region.
