Regional Behavior Specialist – Columbus (Region 6)

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Regional Behavior Specialist to support individuals with behavior challenges across Region 6. Working from the Columbus Field Office, you will collaborate with the Regional Behavior Analyst and developmental disability service providers to assess and improve behavior support plans. This position plays a key role in ensuring high‑quality, evidence‑based services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct initial, update, and annual clinical assessments of behavior support needs for assigned consumers.
• Prepare and submit required reports and documentation within established timeframes.
• Provide technical assistance and training to service providers on best‑practice behavior support standards.
• Participate in monthly supervisions with the Regional Behavior Analyst and attend regional staff meetings.
• Monitor delivery of positive behavior support services to ensure compliance with state policies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis, psychology, education, or related field, OR BCaBA/BCBA certification with relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in counseling or related field with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Experience working with individuals who have dual diagnoses of intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs.
• Ability to provide technical assistance, training, and supervision to service providers.
• Current licensure or certification as required by Georgia state law.
