Redteaming, Auditing, and Compliance Specialist

About the role

Security Level 5 is a Bay Area AI security nonprofit that partners with frontier AI labs and U.S. intelligence agencies to defend against nation‑state level threats. The team is rapidly expanding and is building the first datacenter purpose‑built to the SL5 standard for protecting frontier AI workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure that standardization efforts align with industry auditing norms and capabilities.
• Maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders and help balance critical security properties with auditability.
• Develop auditing protocols that capture the requirements for declaring implementations nation‑state‑level secure, including performance‑based and pentesting requirements.

Required profile

• Experience with real‑world security auditing and the ability to design robust auditing frameworks.
• Ability to apply a security mindset to create efficient methods for compliance with controls.

What we offer

• Base salary range of $140,000 – $230,000 per year, with potential for higher compensation for exceptional candidates.
