Radiology Technologist (PRN) – Kenner, LA

About the role

The Radiology Tech (PRN) provides patient assessments and safely performs routine radiographic procedures in accordance with safety protocols. The role also includes mentoring junior staff and students, ensuring high‑quality imaging, and supporting departmental operations.

Key responsibilities

• Verify physician orders and procedures for accuracy.
• Operate radiographic equipment independently, including placement of tubes, IVs, catheters, and administration of contrast.
• Explain procedures to patients and obtain informed consent.
• Review images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Perform quality‑control checks and address any regulatory issues.
• Assist with inventory, scheduling, equipment maintenance, and other departmental tasks.
• Adapt communication style to respect patient privacy and cultural needs.

Required profile

• Completion of an approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT registration or eligibility within 90 days of hire.
• Current unrestricted state license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with radiology information systems.
• Operation of radiographic imaging equipment.
• Computer, software, and web‑application proficiency.
