About the role
Join a multidisciplinary team in the heart catheterization laboratory, operating diagnostic fluoroscopy and cardiac equipment while supporting physicians and ensuring patient safety. This position prepares rooms, monitors vitals, documents procedures, and serves as a liaison to the Radiation Safety Officer.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with patient setup, positioning, and post‑procedure cleanup using safe transfer techniques.
- Operate radiographic fluoroscopy equipment to acquire diagnostic images of coronary and peripheral vascular disease.
- Conduct hemodynamic monitoring during procedures and report values to the physician.
- Monitor and manage radiation dose delivery to protect patients and staff.
- Transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images via PACS.
- Perform quality‑control checks and routine maintenance on fluoroscopy equipment.
Required profile
- Associate degree in radiologic sciences (required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire (required).
- Registered Radiologic Technologist in the state of practice and ARRT registration (required).
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in radiologic sciences and 2 years allied‑health experience.
Required skills
- Operation of diagnostic fluoroscopy equipment.
- Radiographic fluoroscopy imaging of coronary and peripheral vessels.
- Use of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Computer and software proficiency for imaging documentation.
- Hemodynamic monitoring and vital‑sign reporting.
- Radiation dose monitoring and safety compliance.
- Equipment quality control and routine maintenance.
