Quality Operations Manager – A220 VSM (2nd Shift)

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Quality Operations Manager for the A220 VSM on the 2nd shift at its Mobile, AL facility. Reporting to the Head Office Quality VSM, you will act as the on‑site quality representative after the HO team departs, overseeing inspection activities across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the 2nd‑shift VSM Quality Inspection teams, ensuring personnel qualifications meet Airbus standards.
• Drive risk mitigation and rapid resolution of quality escapes, initiating corrective actions and managing non‑conformities from creation to closure.
• Serve as the focal point for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with TCCA‑POA regulations and OSHA safety rules.
• Coordinate with customers, engineering, methods, and other MFT members to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
• Support and lead continuous‑improvement projects such as new station implementation, AOS deployment, and production‑rate increases.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary quality teams in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Strong decision‑making ability under pressure, with a track record of managing audit processes and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication skills to ensure seamless hand‑over between shifts and clear stakeholder alignment.

Required skills

• AOS (Airbus Operational System) proficiency.
• Knowledge of TCCA‑POA regulatory requirements.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems, NC process, and PV delegation.
