Pulmonary Critical Care Physician – Full‑Time Academic

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health System‑Monroe Medical Center and LSU Health Sciences Center‑Shreveport are seeking a Pulmonary/Critical Care physician to join their academic faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor. The position involves delivering high‑quality pulmonary and critical care services while contributing to education and research.

Key responsibilities

• Provide and supervise pulmonary and critical care services for in‑patient and out‑patient populations.
• Participate in an in‑house call schedule as determined by the Department Chairman.
• Teach and mentor residents and medical students in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
• Support virtual ICU physicians and critical care nurses.
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers in ICU and clinic settings.

Required profile

• MD or DO degree.
• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care.
• Eligibility for an active Louisiana medical license.
• Distinguished record in pulmonary/critical care clinical activities.
• Strong commitment to resident and medical student education.

Required skills

• Pulmonary procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, thoracentesis).
• Critical care management, including mechanical ventilation.
• Virtual ICU support and coordination.
