Pulmonary & Critical Care Physician – Full‑Time Academic

About the role

The Ochsner LSU Health System‑Monroe Medical Center and LSU Health Sciences Center‑Shreveport are seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor in Pulmonary and Critical Care. This full‑time academic position involves direct patient care, supervision of ICU services, and a strong commitment to teaching residents and medical students.

Key responsibilities

• Provide and supervise pulmonary and critical‑care services, including in‑house call coverage as determined by the Department Chair.
• Participate in teaching activities and educational responsibilities for residents and medical students throughout the appointment.
• Support virtual ICU operations and collaborate with critical‑care nurses and advanced practice providers.
• Manage a diverse case mix that includes hospital consults, pulmonary procedures, outpatient pulmonary medicine, and shifts in a 12‑bed adult medical ICU.

Required profile

• MD and/or DO, board‑certified or eligible in Pulmonary/Critical Care, and eligible for a Louisiana medical license.
• Distinguished record of clinical activity in pulmonary and critical‑care medicine.
• Demonstrated commitment to the education of residents and medical students.
