Publisher – Humanities & Social Sciences Journals

About the role

Springer Nature is seeking a Publisher to lead a portfolio of approximately 19 peer‑reviewed academic journals in the behavioural and social sciences and the humanities. The role is permanent, full‑time and based in a hybrid model across New York, Jersey City or Philadelphia.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop strong relationships with Editors‑in‑Chief, Editorial Board members, authors, reviewers and academic societies.
• Design and implement data‑driven journal development plans to grow the portfolio.
• Monitor project status and performance through reporting systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams across the business to ensure smooth journal operations.
• Represent the journals as the primary publishing contact for external partners.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Strong consulting and relationship‑building abilities.
